Li Xing: Marketing Manager for Asia

An interview with: Li Xing

How long have you worked at JUNKER?

On July 1st 2008, I walked through the door of the Representative Office in Shanghai and started my first day at JUNKER, and the first day of my career. Although I was born less than 130 km from Shanghai, it was my first time in the city. With so many firsts, it's a date I'll never forget. In a dynamic economy where it's common for people to change jobs every two to three years, I decided to stay with JUNKER and build a career there. This year, I will celebrate my 15th anniversary at JUNKER.

" I find it exciting to learn new things and be inspired "

What does your role involve?

I was originally employed as a sales assistant, and two years later I was promoted to the role of Assistant to the Head of Sales China. Since 2019, I have held the position of Marketing Manager Asia. My main tasks are to market JUNKER technologies and products, to raise awareness and interest among potential buyers, and to introduce sales contacts to the sales team in China. To achieve my goals I am responsible for planning and organizing online and offline promotions and events, including trade fairs, seminars and conferences. Likewise, content creation for social media and market research are part of my area of responsibility. And finally, I’m responsible for organizing in-house events, such as Chinese New Year and anniversary celebrations. In September 2022, I was nominated Supervisor of Erwin Junker Machinery Shanghai. My main task in this role is to monitor the financial performance of Erwin Junker Machinery Shanghai.

What do you particularly like about your job?

I am someone who likes to stay curious, and who believes in lifelong learning and constant development. My work involves challenges that make me step out of my comfort zone and require for creative thinking to find solutions, so that I am constantly outgrowing myself. This is what particularly excites me. Working in the marketing department also gives me the opportunity to interact with people from different departments and areas. I find it exciting to learn new things and be inspired. Every day, I feel a sense of self-fulfillment, and I am grateful for the trust and the opportunities at JUNKER.

What do you particularly appreciate about your workplace in China?

China has experienced rapid growth over the last 30 years, to become the second-largest economy in the world. The Chinese economy is crucial and has tremendous potential, while the Chinese market is open and welcoming to state-of-the-art technologies. China is currently undergoing a transition from quantity to quality. High-tech companies such as JUNKER will continue to play a major role in the Chinese market. According to a survey, Shanghai has replaced Hong Kong as Asia's most expensive city. Almost all of the world's leading companies and well-known brands have located their Asian headquarters in Shanghai. I feel very fortunate to be born in this country and in this era of endless opportunity, and to work for a leading grinding technology company in Asia's wealthiest city.
