A chat with: Jason Fang

What are your main responsibilities?

My main responsibilities include completing the precise installation, commissioning, final acceptance till handover for production of new machines and equipment at JUNKER customers’ project sites, as well as timely and efficiently analyzing and troubleshooting of new and old machines. At the same time, I am also responsible for communication and coordination on project sites to ensure smooth progress of projects.

What is the most attractive part of your position to you?

Working on machines every day, I constantly encounter new challenges. In the process of dealing with and solving them, my creativity and imagination can be fully stimulated and mobilized, while also my on-site management and coordination abilities are tested and reinforced. The sense of achievement when problems are solved excite me fully, and more importantly, I do my best and am able to help customers.

How many machine installation and commissioning projects have you been responsible for since you joined JUNKER 15 years ago? What project gives you the most sense of achievement?

I have been responsible for the installation and commissioning for around 100 JUNKER machines. The ones which gave me the most sense of achievement were Guilin Fuda and Neijiang Jinhong projects.

Regarding Guilin Fuda project: I just joined JUNKER company then. At that time, technicians from abroad were leading the commissioning of JUNKER machines sold to China, and the local engineers were only providing support. Fuda project was the 1st attempt of completing installation and commissioning till final acceptance of the JUCRANK 6S grinding machine solely by local engineers. With the high expectations from both the headquarters and the customer, together with other colleagues from JUNKER China service team, we successfully finished the commissioning and final acceptance of all the 8 machines. This is a precious chance of self-development. The completion of this project won us the recognition from customer and the praise from HQ management.

As for Neijiang Jinhong project: since the 1st JUNKER JUCRANK 6S machine to customer plant in 2012 till now, all the machines in Neijiang Jinhong were installed and commissioned solely by JUNKER China after-sales team and we got the final acceptance signature in fast speed. Since the 1st machine, I have made sure of smooth and efficient installation and commissioning process, so that customer can start production as soon as possible, winning high customer satisfaction with JUNKER service quality. The customer has also required me to keep on being in charge of the later machines’ commissioning. This also lays a solid foundation for customers to continue purchasing JUNKER grinding machines.

Which is your fastest record among all new machine installation and commissioning projects? How was it done?

Among all the new machine installation and commissioning projects, the Neijiang Jinhong project broke our fastest completion record up till then. We originally planned to complete the installation and commissioning till reaching the customer’s acceptance standards within one month. Despite of this, in reality, we only took about 20 days to successfully complete all the work. This achievement not only demonstrated the efficient collaboration ability of the project team, but also reflected our unremitting pursuit of excellent technology and quick response to customer needs.

We were able to achieve this first and foremost due to the careful planning and thorough preparation of the project team. We conducted a detailed requirement analysis and risk assessment before the project started, and developed a practical and feasible work plan. Secondly, communication and collaboration among team members were very smooth, and everyone had a clear understanding of their responsibilities and tasks, ensuring the efficient progress of work.

JUNKER machines and technologies are constantly evolving. How did you handle new technologies or workpieces?

In the face of challenges posed by JUNKER new technologies or workpieces, my coping strategy is, on the one hand, practical learning, which involves directly participating in the specific operation process of new-tech projects, experiencing and understanding the working mechanism and performance characteristics of new technologies, and constantly exploring and mastering necessary skills; On the other hand, I believe that learning is a continuous and dynamic process, so I regularly update my knowledge base by reading the latest technical documents, attending relevant online courses and seminars to keep up with the times.

Furthermore, in the JUNKER family, I am not working alone. I always seek support from the technical experts at headquarters. I not only discuss specific issues with them, but also consult with them on problem-solving strategies and methods. Being able to communicate with experienced experts is an extremely valuable resources for me, which helps me understand and apply new technologies faster, and make innovations when the case requires.

In short, through continuous practical exploration, self-learning, and communication and cooperation with experts, I am able to effectively respond to the challenges brought by JUNKER‘s new technologies, ensuring the smooth implementation and use of these new research and development on the user side.
